James E. Cashman IIIPresident and Chief Executive Officer -
James E. Cashman III has been our president since 1999 and our chief executive officer since February 2000. Mr. Cashman served as our senior vice president of operations upon joining the Company in September 1997 until April 1999. Prior to joining the Company, Mr. Cashman was vice president of marketing and international operations at PAR Technology Corporation, a computer software and hardware company involved in transaction processing, from 1995 to September 1997. From 1992 to 1994, he was vice president of product development and marketing at Metaphase Technology, Inc., a product data management company, which was a joint venture of Structural Dynamics Research Corporation and Control Data Systems. Prior to joining Metaphase, Mr. Cashman was employed by Structural Dynamics Research Corporation, a computer aided design company, from 1976 to 1992, in a number of sales and technical positions. Mr. Cashman is also Chairman of the Pittsburgh Technology Council and a past Board member of the Carnegie Museum of Natural History. Mr. Cashman's experience includes senior responsibilities in technology, product and market strategy management, as well as sales, operational and international functions prior to his general management role with the Company for the past 15 years. His long-standing vision and well-diversified background are key components of the Company's board structure and effectiveness.

Maria T. ShieldsVice President and Chief Financial Officer -
Maria T. Shields has been our Chief Financial Officer and Vice President, Finance and Administration since September 1998. Previously, she served as our Corporate Controller since September 1994 and as a Vice President since May 1998. Prior to joining the Company, Ms. Shields held various positions as a CPA with Deloitte and Touche LLP, including that of Audit Manager. Ms. Shields serves as Director of the First National Bank Pittsburgh Community Board and the Washington County Chamber of Commerce, and as a member of the Board of Trustees of the Anglican Diocese of Pittsburgh. Ms. Shields holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Pennsylvania State University.

Walid Abu-HadbaChief Product Officer -
Walid Abu-Hadba joined ANSYS in April 2013 in the newly created position of Chief Product Officer. He brings extensive experience to ANSYS, having worked in a variety of progressively challenging management roles within Microsoft for the past twenty-one years, most recently as Corporate Vice President, Developer and Platform Evangelism. In addition, Abu-Hadba spent time at Microsoft as Vice President, Specialist Sales, Enterprise and Partner Group; General Manager, Asia Pacific and Japan Technology Center; General Manager, Global Technical Center; and Practice Manager, Advanced Technology Group. He is a graduate of Arizona State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Systems Engineering.

Sheila S. DiNardoVice President, General Counsel and Secretary -
Sheila S. DiNardo has been our Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary of the Company since January 2004. Prior to joining the Company, Ms. DiNardo was a Shareholder with the law firm of Buchanan Ingersoll, P.C. Ms. DiNardo holds an A.B. in Economics from Georgetown University, a Master of Science with a concentration in Finance from the Carnegie Mellon University Tepper School of Business, and a J.D. from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law.

Joseph C. Fairbanks Jr.Vice President, Worldwide Sales and Support -
Joseph C. Fairbanks, Jr. has been our Vice President, Worldwide Sales and Support since October 2001. Prior to joining the Company, Mr. Fairbanks was President and Chief Operating Officer for Black Oak Computer Services Incorporated from August 2000 to October 2001. Prior to this position, Mr. Fairbanks was the Vice President, Sales and Marketing for the IBM Business Unit of Avnet Hallmark, an IBM distributor, from August 1997 to August 2000. Prior to August 1997, Mr. Fairbanks was the Director of Sales Operations for Aspen Technology, a chemical engineering software company. Mr. Fairbanks majored in Computer Sciences at West Chester University.

Joshua FredbergVice President, Marketing -
Joshua Fredberg joined ANSYS in 2009, bringing a rich, diverse background in engineering and technology to the leadership team. Before joining ANSYS, Fredberg was senior vice president of product and market strategy at Parametric Technology Corporation (PTC), where he worked on industry strategy, marketing and business development. Prior to joining PTC, he held leadership roles with both ARIBA and Andersen Consulting Strategic Services. He holds a B.S. in electrical engineering from Tufts University, an M.S. in systems engineering from the University of Pennsylvania, and an M.B.A in finance from The Wharton School.

Debra BurkVice President, Human Resources -
Debra Burk joined ANSYS in May, 2011 bringing extensive global human resource management expertise in North America, Europe and Asia. Prior to joining ANSYS, Burk held various vice president human resources positions for Thermo Fisher Scientific, in various divisions, groups and regions (Asia Pacific). Prior to Thermo Fisher, she held human resources leadership roles within IBM (former Transarc, Inc.) and II-VI, Inc. Burk holds a B.S. in Business Administration from Robert Morris University and an M.S. in Human Resources from LaRoche College. She is also a certified Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) from the Human Resource Certification Institute.

Joseph S. Solecki Ph.D.Vice President, Physics Business Unit -
Joseph Solecki is the Vice President of the Physics Business Unit at ANSYS. He has been at the Company for over 27 years and during that time has held several positions in a number of capacities, including Vice President of the Mechanical Business Unit, Chief Technologist, and Corporate Fellow. Prior to that, he worked as a Senior Developer in the area of structural mechanics, solvers and optimization. He holds a Ph.D. in engineering from Carnegie Mellon University.

Brian C. DrewVice President and General Manager, Central Development Unit -
Brian C. Drew has been our Vice President and General Manager of the Central Development Unit since November 2006. Prior to joining the Company, Mr. Drew was the Vice President of Product Development & Internal Services at Fluent Inc. since July 1999. He became Fluent's Business Unit Director for the Power Generation industry segment and the ICEPAK business unit in April 1995 after serving as Fluent's Sales Director for North America since April 1991. Prior to that, Mr. Drew's industrial experience includes the design of rocket engines and spacesuits at Hamilton Standard and the development of high heat flux cooling systems at Creare Inc. Mr. Drew holds Bachelor and Master of Science degrees in Mechanical Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology.

Shane R. EmswilerVice President and General Manager, Electronics Business Unit -
Shane R. Emswiler joined ANSYS as part of the Ansoft Corporation acquisition in July 2008. Prior to becoming Vice President and General Manager of the Electronics Business Unit, Mr. Emswiler was Chief Financial Officer of Ansoft. Mr. Emswiler joined Ansoft from Ernst & Young, where he was a senior manager in the assurance and advisory practice. Mr. Emswiler is a Certified Public Accountant and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Grove City College.

Andrew Yang joined ANSYS in 2011 when the company acquired Apache Design Solutions, which Yang founded in 2001. Prior to his work at ANSYS, Yang was an active entrepreneur and EDA investor, founding Anagram and serving as chairman and CTO until its acquisition by Avant! Corporation. Yang also served as lead investor in several successful technology companies including CADMOS Design Technology (now Cadence Design Systems), InnoLogic Systems (now Synopsys), Ultima Interconnect Technology (now Cadence Design Systems), and Mojave (now Magma Design Automation). A former tenured professor at the University of Washington, Yang holds a B.S. in electrical engineering from the University of California, Berkeley and M.S.and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Illinois.
